Today, I finished the fourth chapter of my book. In it, I completely went farther then I thought I was going to go, stretching in a direction that I had thought I wasn’t going to take. I truly love it when that happens, when you get a connection with your characters and the book ends up writing itself. It’s a great experience.
Hey everybody! I’m DnDFreak, an aspiring writer with a passion for gaming and anime. I decided to create this blog for a few reasons, the most primary one is to keep me motivated to finish my new book. I’ll be posting here on my progress, every step of the way while giving tips and help to my fellow aspiring novelists. So far, I’ve finished the first three chapters and I have yet to begin on the fourth, but I hope to finish it by the end of Q3 2010. Well, at least, the first book. If I can find a publisher at that point, I hopefully want to see this book hit print by early 2011.
For now, you can view a horridly unformatted version of the first chapter on this blog (http://dndfreak.wordpress.com/book) but the entire work in progress is available for download from my resident forum, http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=16682.msg743941#msg743941
Obviously, as the book nears completion that link will NOT be updated, you’ll need to actually buy the thing to hear the end. As the great Stephen Colbert wrote, “No free rides. Rides cost money.”
Speaking of money, I want to leave you with this thought: writing is time consuming, and it doesn’t exactly turn a profit that quickly. In order for me to find the time to keep both this site and my novel itself active, I’ll need to be able to pay the bills. You can easily donate to my paypal account to help me stay afloat. I thank you in advance for your support.
